Learning Outcomes

By the end of this module, learners will be able to:

  • Discuss the issues and risks associated with data brokers
  • Identify different approaches for dealing with the risks posed by data brokers

Greet learners and review the plan for this module

Review how data brokers operate, what they are, and the issues that they create and pose. Pause to see if anyone has a question or needs anything clarified

Activity: Discuss the risks and challenges of data brokers

Ask learners what other risks or issues do they think are associated with data brokers

Ways to deal with issues posed by data brokers

Talk with learners about what they might do differently having heard this lesson

Activity: Discuss digital security approaches to avoiding data brokers
