Introduction and welcome
Greet learners and review the plan for this module
Defining private browsing
Provide a definition for private browsing and see if anyone has any questions or anything else to add
What private browsing does and does not do
Review what private browsing can do and what its limitations are. See if anyone has any questions
When to use private browsing
Review some scenarios where private browsing might be beneficial or advisable. See if anyone has any other scenarios to add to the list
Staying secure with private browsing
Review a list of other digital safety best practices to use in conjunction with private browsers for a more secure online experience
Activity: Testing out private browsing
Put your learners into small groups. Give everyone the guided handout and have them record their responses there. Have your learners run searches in both private and non-private browsers. Encourage your learners to reflect on the differences between their browsers – does the private browser seem to know less personal information about them? What is happening to their search results or ads?
Takeaways, resources, and final questions
Review the closing thoughts and share the suggested resources. See if anyone has any final questions
